Department 56 - Christmas in The City - The Chrysler Building

Description

Welcome to Christmas in the City from Department 56 - With all the hustle and bustle, this series captures the elegance and excitement of the city. When ground breaking happened on September 19, 1928, there was competition in New York City to build the world's largest skyscraper. Built at a furious pace of four floors per week and completed in 1930, the Chrysler Building was at one time the tallest building in the world, and was the first man-made structure to surpass a height of 1,000 feet. Today it remains the tallest brick building in the world. This piece is over 23" high and is enhanced with LED lighting at the top for a special glow, as well as several spotlights and interior lights. The chrome detailing as well as eagle gargoyles and art deco style make this a piece you'll want to add as a centerpiece to your collection.
